CAKES AND CHEESECAKES
Like all our products, our cakes are prepared and baked to order, nothing is frozen and we can be persuaded to make specials for our customers. We use Dark Belgian Chocolate in our chocolate cakes, and where it is included in the recipe, fresh double cream, delivered daily by a nearby dairy. When all the baking is done we finish and decorate the cakes by hand and pack them away into the cold store. Our cake list may change, often as a result of customer requests, so inspiration is always welcome.
The cakes are 9½” in diameter and can be cut into 12 to 16 slices and many of our cakes benefit from being slightly warmed, then served with Clotted cream! We are able to produce many of our range of cakes with Gluten Free flour.
Our cheesecakes are made with a West Country full fat soft cheese and double cream (no gelatine) and the 9” cheesecakes can be cut into twelve to sixteen slices. The fruit cheesecakes have the fruit blended throughout giving a consistent flavour and appearance.

Rich Chocolate Cake We use over a pound of luxurious dark Belgian chocolate in this recipe and so it’s best served slightly warm to make it darker and squidgy. Totally delicious. |

Devonshire Dream Tea This could hardly be more English. It is utterly delicious and really very naughty using Guernsey clotted cream, our home made strawberry preserve and our own scones. |
Ginger and Pear Cake This gingery sponge is baked upside down over pears with lots of delicious, tangy, sweet stem ginger. Another award winner. |
